Covid 19, Additional Information and Registration
Sometimes the best laid plans do not come to fruition. The City of Lacey on Tuesday said that we can’t have our 2021 Family Fish-in event scheduled for April 17, 2021 due to COVID 19 concerns.
After discussion with the City we did receive permission to have a small number of our members at the park to hand out the promised fishing poles to the 100+ kids that had been registered for the event. This will be accomplished by members of the Board.
WDFW will still plant the Pond with 2,000 trout however there won’t be a netted area. Lacey has also agreed that we can encourage the kids to try their luck. We will have bait available for those who want to do just that.
An email has been sent to all those registered advising them of this change of plans.
I want to thank everyone who had agreed to take part in this event. It is unfortunate that this decision came at such a late date. Hopefully, next year we will be back to normal and will be able to hold a full fledged kids fish-in.
