January 15 - CANCELLED - Clam Dig - The WDFW has approved the January 15 clam dig and it is a go for an outing if the weather permits. The plan is to meet at the Mud Bay Park and ride at 12:30 and car pool or caravan down to Grayland (Twin Harbors). We will have a wienie roast starting around 2:30. The tide will be low at 5:22 so we should be able to begin digging our clam around 3:30 which means it will be a daylight dig for the most part. If you plan to come please let Mike Silvers (360 951 5160 setthehook55@gmail.com) or me (360 866 0189 ramorrow@pacifier.com) know by Friday so we can make sure we have enough wienies.
If you want to meet us at the beach take the Cranberry Road entrance (the State Park entrance) to the beach turn left and go to the first creek. Look for the PSA banner on back of Mike Silvers gray vehicle.
The weather forecast looks great so I am looking forward to seeing everyone next Saturday.

January 29 - Clam Dig & Surf Perch fishing - Twin Harbors
We've got an Outing planned for Saturday 1/29/22 in Grayland.
The plan is to leave MudBay Park & Ride at 12:30pm on Saturday 1/29/22. Heading for Grayland to have a bonfire and eat some dogs before digging clams.
For those that would like to try fishing for Surf Perch there should be time before digging. Long range forecast is for some strong winds. I'll keep you posted.
It should be a daylight dig. Low Tide is 4:30 and is a -0.7
For those that would like to meet us down there, we will be at the usual spot behind Grayland Beach State Park. Hit the beach, turn left and look for the 1st fresh water flowing over the beach. We will be set up just before it. Look for the Blue/White Outings Banner
Let me know if you plan on joining us and I'll throw in enuf dogs for everybody. It is a great way to get out of the house and I have yet to hear of clams spreading any virus.
February 3 - General Chapter meeting at Lacey Community Center @ 7 PM, everyone is welcome - members and non-members!
Feb 2 - 6 - Washington Sportsmen's show at the Fairgrounds in Puyallup
Feb 19 - We're gonna help WDFW with a small Fishing Event in Elma on Saturday 2/19/22 for GI's and their families. The plan is for people to fish PSA 's pond and Elma Pond #2. 10 Steelhead and some Jumbo Trout will be put in our pond and Steelhead will be planted in Elma Pond #2 (Inez Lake). https://www.google.com/maps/place/Vance+Creek+Pond+2/@46.9224671,-122.8255551,14z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x54922a1bf2ec9f6f:0x579a316ca9a77ce9!8m2!3d46.9962189!4d-123.4169694
Friday 2/18/22 10:00-12:00 set up our pond and fill with water. 1:00 WDFW will deliver fish. We could use 4-5 people to help set up the pond and fill it with water.
Saturday 2/19/22 9:00-1:00 we could use some volunteers to help people fish. The plan is to use PSA's pond for a visual aid and for kids to fish. We will then help them fish in Elma Pond #2. WDFW has 30 Poles/reels rigged up for people to use. Elma Pond #2 is open to the public. There are fish already in the pond and by Saturday there will be 300 Steelhead planted. Our pond hasn't been out of the trailer in 2 years. This is a nice small event to get the pond and equipment checked out. If you would like to help, let me know.
Feb 16 - 20 - Portland Sportsmen's show at Portland Expo Center
February 26 - We've got a Outing planned for Saturday February 26th to dig Razor clams. We will be digging at Twin Harbors with a 3:15 tide. We will be leaving Mud Bay Park & Ride at 12:00 for those that want to car pool down. For those meeting us down there, we will be at the 2nd freshwater stream going across the beach. Last dig we stopped at the 1st stream and didn't do very good so we will move further away from the beach entrance. We will be entering the beach on Cranberry Beach Rd, turning left, and stopping next to the 2nd freshwater stream. Right behind Grayland Beach State Park. Look for the Blue/White PSA Outing banner. Hot Dogs and the bonfire will be furnished. Just bring you and yours so we have some good company around the fire. Let me know if you are going to join us and I'll make sure there are enuf dogs for you. April 16 Annual Boat show and safety inspection - On Saturday April 16 we will have our annual Boat Show and Safety inspection in the upper parking lot at Swantown from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM. This in opportunity for you to show off your boat and more importantly get it inspected to ensure it meets all the Coast Guard safety requirements. A representative of the U. S. Power Squadron will conduct the surveys and will issue a decal to be placed on the boat verifying that it has all the required safety gear. I have found that having the decal has allowed me to avoid safety inspections by the Coast Guard or local law enforcement officials. If you plan to bring your boat make sure that you check all your flares to make sure that they are current and also that the navigation lights are working. Those are the most common causes of failure to pass the inspection. We hope to see you all Saturday morning. Allen Morrow

August is salmon time in South Puget Sound, so can our annual fundraiser for pancreatic cancer be far away? No, it can’t. August 21 is the big day, so mark those calendars! Covid put us out of business last year, and will have some impact on this year’s event as well. We’ll be serving lattes, hot coffee, juice and muffins, but the grill will be closed this year. The raffle we added a few years ago keeps getting bigger, and we’ve added lots of new stuff for this year. Stay tuned to Facebook for more details as we get closer to August 21! 8621 Island View Dr NE, Olympia, WA 98506, USA

December 28 or January 4 Tokeland boat basin -
Let's go crabbing. I've got the boat. Do you have pots?
Crabbing at Willapaw on Saturday 12/28 or on Saturday 1/4. Which works better for you. Let me know. Whichever the most people are interested in, is when I will go.
I can shuttle 3 people at a time out to drop pots, then come back in and take 3 more. If there are a bunch of people we will see if there is another boat available.
The plan would be to car pool down to Tokeland and meet at the Marina. I would take 3 people and pots out, drop them then come back for another 3. Then we would shuttle back out and start picking them up.
I've never crabbed in the Willapaw, but with that many pots we should be able to zero in on the crab.
Let me know which Saturday works best for you.
Have a great Christmas.
